2 Ingredient Dough Crescent Rolls

These are not really "flaky" like a traditional croissant, but they are very soft and the cheese helps keep the dough layered during baking. I used Trader Joe's Shredded Light Mozzarella for this batch.

If you make 2 ingredient dough regularly, you may want to buy a Dough Cutter (commission earned). It makes it really easy to cut the dough, scrape stuff off the counter and lift the dough from the work surface to the baking sheet.

Yield/Servings: 8 Serving Size: 1 crescent roll Total Cook/Prep time: 30 minutes

  • 3/4 cup non-fat greek yogurt (Fage brand)
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 8 oz. shredded light mozzarella cheese
  • 1 scrambled egg (used as an eggwash)

Preheat oven to 400

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Mix the yogurt and flour in a bowl until a ball of dough forms

Place it on the work surface

Using a rolling pin, roll it out into a flat round circle shape

Sprinkle the cheese onto the dough

Cut the dough into 8 triangles (see video)

Starting with the widest side, roll each triangle up and place it on the baking sheet

Brush each roll with a coat of the eggwash

Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown

When finished baking, brush them again with the eggwash to make them shiny
