I love these breadsticks to dip in soup, sauces and gravy.

Watch video for demonstration on twisting these. You can purchase a dough cutter on Amazon, similar to what I'm using in the video by clicking this link: Dough Cutter (commission earned).

Yield/Servings: 6 breadsticks Serving Size: 1 breadstick Total Cook/Prep time: 40 minutes

  • For the dough:
  • 3/4 cup FAGE non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup flour (All Purpose or Bread Flour)
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Other ingredients:
  • 1 scrambled egg (used as a wash before and after baking)
  • Sesame Seeds

Preheat oven to 400

Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl.

Add the yogurt and mix to combine to form a ball of dough.

Optional but recommended step: cover dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 - 30 minutes

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface

Divide the dough into 12 small peices and roll each piece into a 10 inch strand

Group the strands in two

Twist 2 strands together and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet

Repeat for remaining dough

Brush the twists with egg wash

Sprinkle with sesame seeds

Bake for about 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown

Optional step: once the breadsticks are done baking, apply another brush of egg wash when they just come out of the oven (this makes them shiny). No need to put them back in the oven after this. The eggwash will cook on the hot breadsticks.
