Fancy Jello

This is not much of a recipe but I decided to keep it here on the blog just as an idea. For some reason, when I purchase the pre-made jello snack packs, I don't feel like I had as good of a treat as when I make the jello myself. It's still just the sugar-free box jello, but I added frozen mixed berries and put it in a few fancy glasses. I like it as a snack when I'm watching TV at night. The mixed berries make it a really refreshing treat.

This treat is zero SmartPoints if you don't add the lite whipped topping, or 2 SmartPoints if you add 4 tbsp of lite whipped topping. Nutrition information excludes the whipped topping.

Yield/Servings: 4 cups Serving Size: 1 cup Total Cook/Prep time: 15 minues (active)

Ingredients

  • 1 box sugar-free strawberry jello (the larger box which is 0.6 oz and makes 8 half-cup servings)
  • Water (as indicated on jello box directions)
  • 12 oz bag Frozen Mixed Berries
  • Lite Whipped Topping (optional)

Directions

Cook jello according to box directions.

Distribute 1/2 cup of the frozen mixed berries into 4 glasses.

Allow the jello to cool at room temperature until its just warm to the touch (so that it does not break the glasses when it's poured).

Distribute the warm jello mixture into the 4 glasses.

Let it chill for about 6 hours (or until fully set).

Top with 4 tbsp whipped topping (optional).

That is all.
